The Faculty of Economics, University of Bengkulu (FE Unib) was established based on Presidential Decree No. 17 of 1982, dated March 31, 1982, and was inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia at that time, namely Prof. Dr Daud Yusuf. FE Unib, when it was established, was led by Dean H. Mochtar Azehari, S.E., who served from 1982 to 1984. As the first dean of FE Unib, H. Mochtar Azehari, S.E. bears a heavy burden and responsibility to make FE Unib an independent, well-established faculty and able to carry out various academic activities well in his two years of leadership. The study programs offered by FE Unib at the beginning of its formation consisted of one Study Program, namely Development Economics Study Program.
