
The Head of the Development Economics Department participated in the 12th AFEBI Congress in Manado, accompanying the Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Bengkulu.
The AFEBI National Congress is an annual event that fosters academic advancement and facilitates open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning for the management of Economics and Business Faculties nationwide. The event was held from November 6 to 8, 2024, at the Four Points Hotel Manado, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Sam Ratulangi University. This year’s theme, “Strengthening Economic Transformation towards Golden Indonesia 2045”, brought together esteemed guests, including the Dean of FEB Universitas Bengkulu, Prof. Dr. Kamaludin, SE, MM, and other prominent figures from the academic and business communities across Indonesia.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chairman of DPN AFEBI, Prof. Dr. Abd. Rahman Kadir, SE., (link unavailable), CIPM, followed by a keynote address by the Governor of North Sulawesi Province, Prof. Dr. (Hc) Olly Dondokambey, SE, and the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Prof. Dr. Rer.nat. Abdul Haris, (link unavailable) The plenary session featured presentations by distinguished speakers, including the Rector of the University of Indonesia (Prof. Ari Kuncoro, SE, MA, Ph.D.), the Head of Bank Indonesia’s North Sulawesi Representative Office, Andry Prasmuko, the Chairman of the Executive Board of BAN-PT, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ari Purbayanto, (link unavailable), and the Chairman of the Executive Board of LAMEMBA, Prof. Dr. Ina Primiana. The discussion forum comprised a series of parallel sessions, including a deans’ forum, a vice deans’ forum, a department heads’ forum, and a master’s program forum.

At the departmental forum, Development Economics Department administrators convened to discuss the indicators for transitioning accreditation instruments from BAN-PT to LAMEMBA and the implications for departmental/programmatic preparedness in responding to these changes. Furthermore, select participants shared their experiences with implementing the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program at their respective institutions.
The ceremony drew to a close with the signing of a collaborative agreement among AFEBI participants, followed by the announcement of the host institution for the 2025 AFEBI Plenary Session and Congress, namely the Faculty of Economics and Business at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) in Singaraja, Bali.
